Carmel By The Sea

Overview

Carmel

Carmel-by-the-Sea is the quaintest little village in California, an enclave of no more than 4000 residents on the Monterey Peninsula.  Once a home of artists such as Ansel Adams and writers like Robinson Jeffers, it isknown for the 80 art galleries and spectacular array of restaurants and high end shopping options.

Wide World of Golf was headquartered in Carmel from 1982 until 2005, and maintains a small office to host our visitors to the Monterey Peninsula.  We often recommend an ideal trip to include a stay at Pebble Beach or Spanish Bay (to access Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill GC), but then add some days in Carmel to wander the streets, visit the pubs and many restaurants.  From Carmel, the golf courses of Poppy Hills, Carmel Valley Ranch, Quail Lodge, Bayonet and others are just 5-10 minutes away.

Visitors are always curious on where to see former Mayor Clint Eastwood, who most often frequents The Mission Ranch Restaurant overlooking the Carmel meadow.   The Carmel Beach is among the most beautiful in California, and one of the few where adult beverages and evening bonfires are still allowed!
