2010 BRITISH OPEN GOLF PACKAGES |
|
|
Reservations now being accepted!

The 150th
Open Championship, scheduled for St Andrews (July 15-18,
2010), will be a historic event, and likely to produce a
proven champion (the last 2 British Opens
at St Andrews were won by Tiger Woods in 2000 and 2005).
Wide World of Golf has rooms in 3 hotels and you can
choose from staying close by at The Fairmont St Andrews,
or in the nearby towns of Carnoustie or Edinburgh. Book
early – the Open at St Andrews always sells out fast!
The Old Course St Andrews
Whereas visitor tees are
between 6500 and 6710 yards, the Open Championship at St
Andrews Old Course will play at about 7279 yards and par
72. When Tiger Woods won in 2000, he played the
entire four round tournament without hitting in one
bunker, once thought impossible. Woods won again in 2005
(The Open is now held at St Andrews every 5 years) and
will be looking for an Old Course three-peat in 2010!
"St
Andrews is where all the greats want to win an Open, and
the site where they can validate a Hall of Fame career.”
– Bill Hogan - Wide World of Golf President

Luxury
Collection Turnberry Resort (5-star / WWG
Rating: A+):
The 2009 British Open was staged here on The
Ailsa Course after a multi-million upgrade
(first unveiled during the Open) and the
resort was rebranded from a Westin to a
Luxury Collection by Starwood. Be among the
first to see what all the fuss is about and
take a look at the new and improved
Turnberry!
The
Highlands and Dornoch:
Royal Dornoch is often the favorite links of
connoisseurs, but a visit to the north
should also include a look at Nairn, Cruden
Bay and Royal Aberdeen. Or try the new
Castle Stuart GC, the most talked about new
course in Scotland! We have great little
hotels in Nairn for a great price (Claymore
House) or luxurious manors like The Boath
House, Marcliffe at Pitfodels, or The
Culloden House. In Dornoch itself, the
recently renovated Royal Golf Hotel
overlooks the beautiful sandy beaches of The
Dornoch Firth and the first tee of Royal
Dornoch GC. The luxury bedrooms and suites
just reopened for the 2009 season after a
huge reinvestment by Peter DeSavary of Skibo
Castle fame.
East
Lothian:
The great courses east of Edinburgh include
Muirfield, North Berwick and Gullane…plus 2nd
tier courses such as Dunbar, Longniddry,
Archerfield and Craigielaw. Again, a place
you could stay for a week and enjoy
something new every day!
Gleneagles
(5-star / WWG Rating: A+):
Three superb courses and the top rated
resort hotel in Europe, The Gleneagles Hotel
is in a class of it’s own. Make sure to play
the Kings Course, the famed James Braid
layout, but don’t overlook a round on the
PGA Centenary course which will host the
2014 Ryder Cup, or the short and sweet
Queens Course.
Machrihanish:
The famed old Machrihanish GC has been
complimented by the new Machrihanish Dunes
GC recently completed in the adjacent
linksland dunes. Try one of the new villas
onsite or stay in one of the small B&B’s in
Campbeltown at the bottom of The Mull of
Kintyre.

Booking is based
upon availability. Space will sell out
quickly so please act soon!
depending on the
package, a $1000 per person deposit up to a
50% deposit is due upon booking, and custom
extensions require extra $500 deposit. Final
payment due 90 days before departure. Your
tour includes prepaid hotels with room types
as shown; prepaid green fees; daily
breakfast and other meals where listed;
ground transportation in self-drive rental
vehicle; detailed itinerary booklet; luggage
tags; any special events or tickets as shown
as included; complete services of our local
staff and the support of America’s most
experienced golf travel operator.
Airfare is not included – you are free to
shop online or we can recommend a ticketing
agent for your air requirements. We have
full time, local staff in your destination
who personally knows the local golf course
managers, golf professionals, caddy masters,
hoteliers, restaurateurs, etc. Our staff is
always on call and will visit with you and
keep in contact with you frequently during
the trip. We do not use sub-contractors or
destination management companies like most
operators – we negotiate directly with the
suppliers on your behalf and often get
preferred tee times or reservations that are
often otherwise unavailable. All of our
hand-picked, annually reviewed hotels are
excellent and the room types are shown and
consult us if you require higher room
categories. Your tour is based on
using certain exchange rates as of today –
the tour price can change if dramatic
exchange rate fluctuations occur (same if
you were paying by a credit card direct).
Travel insurance information is available
upon request, will be forwarded to you at
time of deposit, and is highly recommended.
After final payment has been received, our
office will forward a detailed, bound
itinerary with local staff information,
hotel contact lists, travel tips, restaurant
recommendations, hotel and golf
descriptions, sightseeing descriptions, and
interesting reading such as Malt Whisky
tours and history.
