About Marriott Sawgrass & TPC Stadium Course
The Marriott Sawgrass - A totally self contained resort, The Marriott Sawgrass is home of The Players Championship, the “fifth major” on the PGA Tour each year. The recently renovated guestrooms all look out toward some of the 117 holes of golf on site and the beautiful lagoons and swimming pool complex. Set just a few blocks from the ocean and along lakes and marshes, the Marriott houses a nice pool area, tennis (including grass court), and many restaurants to choose from. Many enjoy a nice bike ride after golf to the nearby beach or arrange to take a sailboat on the ocean. Sawgrass is quite a relaxing place for golfers and non golfers alike, and a superb golf vacation venue. TPC SAWGRASS - The most famous of the Sawgrass courses is the TPC Stadium Course, site of the annual Players Championship on the PGA Tour, the “fifth major”. Designed by Pete Dye and modified over the years by Deane Beaman, the Stadium Course is a tough test and can stretch to over 7000 yards. Other local courses include the Dye's Valley plus Sawgrass CC, Marsh Landing and Sawgrass Country Club. All have plenty of water, alligators and sufficient challenge. Consider a day trip too to the World Golf Village and The Squire & Slammer or The King & The Bear courses plus the World Golf Hall of Fame. |
