Nearby Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula (1 hour drive) are some other great courses including The National GC (Old, Moonah & Ocean Courses), The Dunes, Moonah Links (Open & Legends Courses) and Tom Doak's design at St Andrews Beach.

You can drive for the day from Melbourne or go for a few nights and enjoy the quiet vacation area known for the boutique hotels, wineries, and charming towns like Sorrento.

Our favorite hotel to stay in Melbourne is The Crown Towers Hotel & Casino, along the Yarra River, known for it's immense casino, many high quality restaurants, and the famous gas fire jets which illuminate the waterfront.  For a few bucks more you can stay in thier Crystal Club with the best views of the city and complimentary breakfast, evening canapes and drinks, and dedicated floor concierge.  High rollers even may be able to access the ultra-exclusive Capital Club, a private golf course for VIP guests similar to the original Shadow Creek Las Vegas concept, and just a good!
