Your Hotels

Turnberry Hotel & Spa

LUXURY COLLECTION TURNBERRY RESORT - This famous landmark hotel is one of the world’s finest golf resorts – and was voted by travelers as the Wide World of Golf Hotel of the Year in 2003 and 2006!  Just renovated in 2009 in time for the Open Championship, and now owned by Leisure Corp from Dubai. Set among 360 acres of Ayrshire coastline with panoramic views of the Ailsa and Kintyre golf courses, the famed lighthouse, and the vast granite mass called The Ailsa Craig jutting from the sea in the distance beyond.  With 129 bedrooms (half are deluxe ocean view); the hotel provides a fantastic Spa, superb dining and other activities like fishing, shooting, riding and more. This is golf resort living at its finest, and the best in Scotland! WWG Rating: A+

KINGSCLUB - Located just outside of the busy downtown area, the Kingsmills Hotel has a private Spa Club with just a handful of rooms. Small and very select, The Kingsclub Inverness offers a choice of Cocoon or Retreat luxury air-conditioned bedrooms, a beauty spa, mezzanine lounge, business centre, massage suites, relaxation area, nail salon, green space, golf course views, exclusive bar and restaurant. The bar is exclusive to guests of The Kingsclub; informal and peaceful it’s the perfect place to have an energizing smoothie mid-morning or a cocktail before dinner. WWG Rating:  A-

Your Golf Courses

TURNBERRY AILSA (6,848 yards - par 71) - Below the stately hotel is one of the best links in the world (pronounced “ALE-sa”) and site of many exciting Open Championships, including the Duel in the Sun (Tom Watson over Jack Nicklaus) in ’77, the Greg Norman five shot win in ’86, the Nick Price victory in ’94, and the famous Stewart Cink victory over Watson in 2009. Recent renovations to bunkers, routing and greens (#18 Golf Magazine World Top 100) are excellent upgrades. This is among the best links courses in the world, and certainly one of the most beautiful.  WWG Grade A+

TURNBERRY KINTYRE (6,853 yards – par 72) – The Kintyre Course uses some of the features of the original Arran layout. With some new holes along the ocean, it is a perfect complement to its more famous sister "Ailsa”, and is a qualifier course for The Open Championship. Some carts are available for this course, which makes arrival day round so much easier.  WWG Grade: A- (some carts available)

ROYAL DORNOCH GC (6751 yards - par 70) - Golf dates back here to 1616, but the current layout dates back to 1886 in a design by Tom Morris, and later redesigned by local resident Donald Ross (#16 Golf Magazine World Top 100). Many consider this the best true links in the world, and most of our WWG guests normally rank it the best links golf experience in Scotland. Consider playing it twice!  WWG Grade A+

NAIRN GC (6,556 yards - par 71) - One of Scotland’s best kept secrets, until the 1994 British Amateur and the 1999 Walker Cup brought the course more notoriety. Many agree that Nairn has the best greens in Scotland, and the easy location near Inverness make it a favorite for visitors to The Highlands.  The 38th Curtis Cup will be held at Nairn GC in 2012, matching the top women amateurs from the United States and GB & Ireland.   WWG Grade A-

CASTLE STUART GC – (7007 yards – par 72) The most talked about new course in Scotland near Inverness opened in 2009, and called “the best new course in the world” by a Golf Magazine representative.  The same American owner, Mark Parsinen, who developed Kingsbarns, created this links with Gil Hanse, and Castle Stuart is now host of The Scottish Open the week before the British Open Championship. It looks like it has been there for 100 years already, and the great new art deco clubhouse and practice facility are a superb addition to the Scotland golf scene.  (#56 Golf Magazine World Top 100) WWG Grade A+
