Overview

Many who have already checked Scotland and Ireland off their bucket list should consider Wales as their next golf trip destination.  From North to South, Wales has many great golf courses and at a fraction of the cost of thier more famous neighbors.  

Royal Porthcawl GC, ranked #94 in the world by Golf Magazine and built in 1913, is a true classic links reminicent of Muirfield or Birkdale, certainly a British Open Championship caliber course.  Impeccibly maintained, PRGC is the top course in Wales but certainly not the only one of merit!

Pennard GC is truly spectacular too, built on high cliffs over the sea and featuring such authentic, natural linksland that it has been called "the St Andrews of Wales".  Pennard is a must play, with more character than perhaps any course you have ever seen!

Other links courses to play include Pyle & Kenfig, Royal St Davids (Harlech) and Conway GC.  Seaside courses but not true links include Nefyn & District and Southerndown. There are many others courses too to fill in a week or 10 day trip with good courses each day. 

The 2010 Ryder Cup was staged at Celtic Manor, and although the 2010 Course is a modern resort course, it is a fine test of golf with plenty of risk reward.  The Resort & Spa onsite is the finest in the country of Wales and any time spent at Celtic Manor is time well spent!
